Swen was inspired by two things. The first being the founder's Spanish surname, Cisneros. It means "swan." This is reflected in the logo — which is a stylized wing.

The second inspiration came from the Nordic meaning of Swen, which is "young warrior." It's fitting for an athletic brand because athleticism has to do with striving to be your best.

Basically, founder Chris Cisneros was able to successfully combine his Mexican-American heritage with a Nordic twist to create the brand. The union resulted in a fresh, super clean style and image.
